FAQs
WORKING WITH DECLAN
POPULAR QUESTIONS
How would you describe your photography style?

My photography style is a blend of documentary storytelling with a touch of editorial style. I focus on capturing natural, candid moments as they unfold, always anticipating those genuine, meaningful interactions throughout the day. Alongside this, I take a more guided, editorial approach during key moments, such as when the bride first steps into her dress or when I spend time photographing the couple together. This balance allows me to create a collection for you that feels both authentic and elegant.

What can we expect from you at our wedding?
You can expect my full and total commitment before, during and after your wedding. Before your big day we will meet and discuss the details of your wedding from start to finish. By the end of our meeting we will all have a very clear vision of your wedding day. This normally happens about 6 weeks beforehand. I offer guidance throughout the day only when needed and focus on capturing natural moments as the day unfolds. I’m truly passionate about photography, and my focus is not only on delivering a beautiful collection of images to you, but also on making sure you have a relaxed and enjoyable experience throughout your wedding day.

How many photos do you deliver?
In my packages I say I deliver 450 plus images but the total I deliver differs with every wedding. The minimum I send will be 450 but if I have 700 or 800 images from your wedding that I think you would love I will edit and deliver them to you. I don't stop at a certain number just because the package says so. I really try to give as many images as I possibly can.

How long does it take to receive our photos?
Couples will receive a small collection of images within 48 hours of their wedding day, perfect for sharing with family and friends. Final delivery timelines may vary depending on my shooting schedule, but typically, you can expect to receive your full gallery within 4–5 weeks. During particularly busy periods, this may extend to 6–7 weeks. However, I always strive to maintain a 4–5 week turnaround wherever possible.
Are you willing to shoot weddings outside Meath and Dublin?

Absolutely, I’m more than happy to travel and photograph weddings across Ireland or abroad. In the rare occasion your wedding requires an overnight stay, we can discuss accommodation arrangements together, with any associated costs agreed in advance.

How do we book you for our wedding?

To secure your wedding date, simply reach out via my online contact form or by phone. After we’ve had a chance to connect and confirm the details, a €200 deposit will reserve your date. From there, I’ll guide you through the next steps, ensuring the entire process feels easy and stress-free.
Around 6–8 weeks before your wedding, we can arrange to meet in person or via Zoom to go through all the final details. If possible, I always recommend meeting in person, as it allows us to connect properly and discuss your plans in a relaxed and personal way. Of course, if you have any questions at any stage before then, you’re always very welcome to get in touch.”

Can you provide coverage of my partner’s morning preparations as well?

I can absolutely cover part of your partner’s morning preparations, depending on their location in relation to the bride. If you are both getting ready at the same venue, I can easily dedicate around 30–40 minutes to capturing their morning. If your partner is getting ready nearby (approximately 10–15 minutes away), it’s also possible to include a shorter period of coverage.
To ensure nothing is missed, I would recommend that your partner is ready slight earlier than usual, allowing enough time to return for key moments during the bridal preparations.

If I choose a package without an album can I add an album at a later date?

Yes, you can indeed. If you choose a package without an album, you can add one at any stage, either in the lead-up to your wedding day or before and after your gallery has been delivered. This gives you the flexibility to decide what feels right for you once you’ve had time to enjoy your images.

How do you handle family photos during on the wedding day?

Family photos are kept relaxed and efficient. I’ll ask you for a list of family shots in advance and usually recommend doing them straight after the ceremony while everyone is still together, or as soon as you arrive at the reception.

Having your wedding in Ireland means there’s always a chance of rain, so I always come prepared with a solid Plan B. I’ll choose suitable indoor locations where we can still get great photos if the weather turns really bad.
If the rain isn’t too heavy and you’re happy to step outside with an umbrella, we can also create some really atmospheric shots that often end up being couples favourites.

What if it rains on our wedding day?

How big is the wedding album you offer?

The wedding album included in my packages is a 12x10" album with 60 pages.
If you would prefer a larger album or wish to add additional pages after viewing your proofs, this can be arranged for an additional cost.
All albums are finished in a leatherette cover, available in a range of colours, and is personalised with custom text on the front.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes, engagement sessions can be added to your package or booked separately.
