I’m Declan Smith, a wedding photographer based in Co. Meath. I’m also a husband and dad of two, and I genuinely enjoy working with people and telling their stories through photography. I started over 15 years ago with street photography, which is one of the most challenging forms of the craft. It pushes you to read people, anticipate moments, and react quickly. It taught me how to capture genuine, unscripted moments, something I bring into every wedding I photograph.

I blend editorial style with relaxed, documentary style wedding photography to create images that feel natural, stylish and true to you. Think timeless images with a touch of editorial polish.

I take a calm but involved approach to every wedding, knowing when to step in with direction and when to step back and let things unfold naturally. It’s about striking the right balance, making sure you feel supported and confident, while still allowing real moments to happen without pressure. At the same time, I’m always tuned into what’s happening around me, ready to capture the genuine interactions as they naturally unfold.
